Still stands out as one of the most creative and funny comedies of all time, as well as a creative piece of science fiction, BACK TO THE FUTURE is fun, funny as well as fast-paced and very entertaining. Greatly contributing from a clever screenplay and playful yet professional handling by director Robert Zemeckis and executive producer Steven Spielberg, BACK TO THE FUTURE is a classic of its kind, and I think it's also one of a kind.
The special effects have surely dated a bit, considering that the pattern for effects have advanced through the years. But they're still a lot of elaborate fun. Besides, perhaps the real "special effect" of the film is the clever screenplay. Written by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the script has dozens of very clever and ingenious ideas. The entire concept explanation of time travel remains original and brilliant until now, even providing some inspiration for other time-travel films 'ala BLAST FROM THE PAST.
Michael J. Fox plays the teenage Marty McFly, who is accidentally whisked back in the year 1955 when he hops aboard a time-traveling Delorean created by the near-mad Dr. E. Brown, or simply Doc (played hilariously by Christopher Lloyd. Once there, he gets into trouble with his would-be parents, still teenagers, when her would-be mother (Lea Thompson) falls in love with him, instead of his would-be father (Crispin Glover) which sets the film's hilarious comedy with a difference.
Despite some occasionally bad language, BACK TO THE FUTURE is perfect family entertainment, and I think it still is. It's fun and original, something that most recent, more expensive blockbusters can't do at the same time. And unlike most films that it could have been, BACK TO THE FUTURE doesn't get bogged down to a pure special effects exhibition. The film has a lot of fun with its actors and script, and values them as much as any million dollar effects thrown in. For those, very few, who haven't seen it, don't afford to miss it!

La Gomera a.k.a. "The Whistlers" is a fun Romanian neo-noir borrowing suspense tropes from James Cain, Robert Siodmak and Jules Dassin. The premise is a cop (no unreliable voice overs here) who had to learn the idiom of the whistling language for communicating with people living in interstitial spaces inside and outside of the law. Offbeat, at times hilarious in a deadpan way and rife with truly beautiful mise en scène, the film is a deconstructed tribute to this specific and particular film genre but operates outside of it. All the characters are vividly drawn, the supporting ones carry out the one-dimensionality of their roles with a certain lived-in freshness. Summing up this multi layered, not always coherent plot, is not an easy task. THE WHISTLERS takes a long time to get going but it's many elements come together building up to something special. Heavy on movie references it is heavily inspired by Tarantino movies, although the style of the cinematography is rather dull.
The script on paper must look great, but this is the case where a writer should let go of his work and let someone else direct. Cornelliu Porumboiu helmed 13 films but seems to be still searching for his directing style. While all the cast do their job well, the motives of their characters for the majority of the film are obscure to say the least.
But if this is the originality you are looking for THE WHISTLERS is for you. With good timing and a genuine sense of wit it is a rewarding experience for those who will stick with it until the end.

The movie Apparition is about a group of people conducting the experiment known as The Charles Experiment. It is a kind of experiment that is para-pyschological in nature. The group is instructed to look and concentrate on a drawing of a deceased man in the hopes of summoning his spirit. After a couple of years later, some college students attempted to recreate The Charles Experiment. This time they attempted the experiment using modern technology to enable them to magnify their concentration efforts by 400 times. The students involved in the experiment were named Patrick, Lydia, Greg and Ben. During the experiment, a malevolent spirit was summoned and begins attacking the students. Because of this, the students were on the run trying to escape the spirit. Patrick explains to the group how the spirit may have been summoned, and the efforts of trying to contain the spirit have failed. Patrick also mentions to the group that the room they are currently in are surrounded by negative current. This leads Patrick to believe that the negative current will protect them from the spirit. The group decided to do a new experiment at Ben and Kelly’s house with the hopes of containing the spirit. This time, they plan of using the power of the entire city to simulate the concentration of 400, 000 people. While the group was setting up, Kelly was being trapped in the laundry room by the spirit. However, it disappears. Once they have started the experiment, the whole house begins to shake and slowly begins to break apart. However, it also stops suddenly. Kelly and Ben started to clean the house after the experiment. Then Patrick suddenly vanished, pulled into the darkness. The two looked for Patrick but unable to find him. They felt unsafe so they left for Patrick’s safe room inside Patrick’s house. While Ben and Kelly were in Patrick’s house, they have discovered the personal logs of the people who were involved in the first experiment. They have discovered that all of the original participants died or disappeared. After some incident, Ben disappears. Kelly exist the safe room, and finds Ben dead. Kelly wanders around while listening to Patrick’s narration about the whole experiment. Patrick explained that that first experiment served as the beacon for the spirit, while the second experiment helped it cross to their dimension. As the daylight breaks, Kelly finally wandered to Costco. She found the camping section of the store, and proceeds to enter a tent. She zips the tent close and waits. At the time, Kelly has given up resisting. Then hands began to slowly appear behind her, and slowly grab her. After that, the movie ends by cutting into black.

I grew up on the East Coast with parents I wouldn't really have described as "justno. " They were just my parents. I moved to the West Coast 4 years ago and only get to see my family once a year. The video was about archeologists exploring old testament areas (she's super catholic). Well that was a fucking mistake. " They started laughing as I was saying it but I assume their laugh ended quickly when I hung up and turned off my phone. On one hand, I'm proud of myself. This is the first time I've really used my spine. It's my birthday and I don't want to spend 3 hours on the phone arguing. But now that my phone is off, I can imagine what they're doing and saying. They're upset, hurt, my dad is both talking about how he's a bad parent and how I'm a snowflake. They're taking it out on my brother and sister. They're angry. They're hurt. I'm not ready to go 100% no contact. I just want one day of peace. But instead I think I'm going to spend the day riddled in guilt.

Initially gaining exposure for his work as a graffiti artist, Goldie became well known for his pioneering role as a musician in the 1990s UK jungle, drum and bass and breakbeat hardcore scenes. He released a variety of singles under the pseudonym Rufige Kru and co-founded the label Metalheadz. He would later release several albums under his own name, including the 1995 album Timeless, which entered the UK charts at number 7. Goldie's acting credits include the 1999 James Bond film The World Is Not Enough, Guy Ritchie 's Snatch (2000) and the BBC soap opera EastEnders (2001-2002). He has also appeared in a number of celebrity reality television shows, including Celebrity Big Brother 2 (UK), Strictly Come Dancing, Come Dine with Me and Maestro. Early life [ edit] Price is of Jamaican and Scottish heritage. [1] [2] He was put up for adoption and raised in childcare homes and by several foster parents. [2] According to his 2002 autobiography, he was physically and sexually abused during this time. [3] Price was a member of the breakdance crew Westside, based in the Whitmore Reans and Heath Town areas of Wolverhampton, in the 1980s. He later joined a breakdance crew called the Birmingham Bboys, and made his name as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands. His artwork around Birmingham and Wolverhampton was featured heavily in Dick Fontaine 's documentary Bombin'. He took part in the largest-ever British graffiti art battle alongside Bristol artist Robert "3D" Del Naja, who later formed Massive Attack. He is mentioned for his graffiti in the book Spraycan Art by Henry Chalfant and James Prigoff, which contains several examples of his art. He moved to the United States owing to graffiti projects, and also started selling grills (gold teeth jewellery) in New York and Miami; he continued this business after his return to the UK in 1988. [2] His nickname stems from "Goldielocks", an earlier nickname given to him during his Bboys days and subsequently shortened when he no longer wore dreadlocks. [2] Music [ edit] By 1991, Price had become fascinated by the British breakbeat music scene when his girlfriend, DJ Kemistry, introduced him to the pioneering jungle and drum and bass producers Dennis "Dego" McFarlane and Mark "Marc Mac" Clair, known as 4hero. [2] He went on to execute some design and A&R work for 4hero 's Reinforced Records label. In 1992, Price made his first appearance, by contributing to an EP by Icelandic group, Ajax Project. [4] For many years, the track was repeatedly misattributed to Price himself, perhaps because of his subsequent use of "Rufige" as moniker for his own releases. His releases Killa Muffin b/w Krisp Biscuit and the Dark Rider EP were released under the alias "Rufige Cru" on Reinforced. [5] His track "Terminator", released under the name "Metalheads" in 1992, [6] was a hit in the jungle scene and is noted for pioneering the use of time stretching. Price is known for his work as the leader of Rufige Kru. March 2013 saw the release of The Alchemist: The Best of Goldie 1992–2012, featuring prominent tracks from throughout Price's musical career. [16] A subsequent compilation, the three-CD Masterpiece set released by Ministry of Sound in 2014, brought together tracks that influenced him ( Soul II Soul 's "Back To Life", Roy Ayers ' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine") with cuts that soundtracked his entry into the rave scene and key moments from the drum'n'bass scene. [17] In 2017, the Goldie album The Journey Man was released, which Price described as his " magnum opus " and "the most important thing that I’ve ever made. " [3] Acting career [ edit] Price has appeared in Guy Ritchie 's Snatch and several other films, most notably the James Bond film, The World Is Not Enough. He also played gangster Angel Hudson in the British soap opera EastEnders (2001–2002). Price starred in Everybody Loves Sunshine (1999) (aka B. U. S. T. E. D. – United States title) with David Bowie. Television appearances [ edit] In the late 1980s, Price appeared on Central Weekend, a Friday evening topical debate show on Central TV, promoting graffiti as an art form. He had a small documentary made about his own art on Central TV's Here and Now programme featuring Pogus Caesar 's photographs of New York. He has appeared on various young people's TV shows as part of a breakdance crew, the Bboys from Wolverhampton. In 1995, he appeared on Passengers, and in a Channel 4 documentary about himself in 1998. His next TV appearance was hosting Crime Business on the digital TV channels Bravo and Ftn. He presented the documentary series The World's Deadliest Gangs on Bravo in 2002. Price appeared on the second series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2002. He was the first celebrity to be "evicted". In 2006, he was scheduled to appear in The Games, a UK reality TV show on Channel 4, but during training for the water-ski jump event he fractured his femur and was unable to take part in the show. He was replaced by Adam Rickitt. In 2009, he was reported to be suing the producers of the show for damages as a result of the injury. [18] During August and September 2008, the BBC broadcast Maestro, a reality television show in which eight celebrities, including Price, learned to conduct a concert orchestra. On 31 July 2009, the first of a two-part television programme Classic Goldie was broadcast, showing how in the wake of his success in the Maestro programme he learns to write a score for a large orchestra and choir. The resulting composition, commissioned by the BBC and entitled Sine Tempore ( Timeless), was performed at two children's Promenade concerts in the Royal Albert Hall on 1 and 2 August 2009, which featured music connected with Charles Darwin and the creation and evolution of the world.
